As I reflect on the process of blogging, there’s one thing about it that feels so strange to me. Every time I post something, I check my stats and find it fascinating to see what people choose to open and read. But the weirdest part is seeing all these anonymous people clicking on my blogs while almost never hearing from anyone.
I have one person who comments, and sometimes I get a blog like or two, but from the rest of my anonymous readers? Silence.
I’m not complaining, and I’m definitely not asking you to change anything.
Still, I can’t help but wonder—do you like it? Do you hate it? Are you curious, sitting with popcorn, wondering what the fuck will come next from my creative and unique brain?
I try not to dwell too much on the lack of responses because, when I do, it brings me back to my childhood—and not in a good way.
I don’t write this to make anyone feel bad. I know people’s responses or lack thereof are not a personal reflection of my value or whether I’m worth listening to or not. You all have busy lives. And just seeing that you open things does light me up.
Truly, I’m honored that you read what I create. Thank you for that! And please, no pressure to respond to any of these posts (certainly, not out of guilt). But if you ever feel the desire to reach out, email me, and let me know how any of this impacts you, I’d love to hear it. It would be icing on the cake.
As I’ve healed, my blog posts and creative content have become less about getting reactions and more about having a fun, creative outlet to express myself and share what I’m learning about. It’s like an online journal of sorts.
Still, those one or two comments I get now and then? They absolutely make my day. Just so you know.
Thank you for clicking, reading, and being there. It truly means a lot to me.
In support,
Forest
