How to Finally Be Free

When we have too much pain, we can’t truly live free.

Our brains are wired to avoid pain at all costs. We will do anything in our power to prevent pain or run from pain when it is activated.

The countless strategies we create to avoid pain include distraction, addiction, people-pleasing, self-criticism, perfectionism, and performance. All of our strategies work for awhile but not long-term. And if we’re honest, we’ll be the first to admit that living a life with the sole purpose of avoiding pain does not feel like freedom. It’s not the life we want to live.

Another Way

What if there was another strategy that helped you get the life you wanted?

What if the key to your freedom was not in finding new ways to prevent or cope with the pain but to actually heal the pain?

What if healing the past pains of rejection, exclusion, judgment, discrimination, abandonment, loss, bullying, abuse, and neglect freed you to be yourself authentically and fully?

If the pain and shame caused by harmful relationships, toxic religious beliefs, oppressive authorities, and unjust treatment could finally be healed, what would that change in your life?

If the parts of you that harshly judge you, ruminate and worry, fear punishment, and focus on how hopeless life feels could finally relax more, how would that increase your enjoyment of life?

If you learned to relate to yourself with love, acceptance, and compassion, how do you imagine this new relationship with YOU would feel?

If you connected with your inner wisdom, learning to trust your intuition and body (possibly for the first time ever) what new possibilities could open up for you?

If you released your sexual shame, how would you want to embrace pleasure and express yourself sexually?

If these things changed, I imagine your life would be a lot different than it is now.

How I Can Help

The therapy I provide my clients aims to make these changes.

To heal at their roots, clients often need more than talk therapy alone. They need an evidence-based modality that leads to lasting changes. Using IFS (Internal Family Systems), I help people deeply connect with themselves, heal the pain driving their unwanted behaviors, and find safety within their own body. I am amazed at the depth of healing IFS provides for my clients.

As your compassionate, competent guide, I can help you…

  • Heal parts of yourself wounded by relationships and religion
  • Let go of sexual shame
  • Release fear of punishment and hell
  • Decrease compulsive behaviors
  • Treat a lifetime of trauma
  • Respond to challenging and confusing emotions
  • Connect with your heart and body safely
  • Reconnect with and celebrate parts of yourself that were not welcome in relationships and religion
  • Discover the goodness of who you are at your core
  • Create meaning for yourself
  • Learn to trust yourself again
  • Express yourself confidently and authentically
  • Find your inner compass
  • Create practices that support your growth for years to come
  • Build a strong, new relationship with YOU

If you are ready to begin this journey with me, I am ready to guide you. I am currently accepting new clients online in California (click here to learn more). You are worth all of the time, energy, and resources you invest in yourself.

Healing is possible.
