Areas of Expertise

Compulsive Sexual Behavior, Betrayal Trauma, Sexual Shame, & Purity Culture
I have extensive experience treating compulsive sexual behavior, sex addiction, and betrayal trauma. I’m a certified Sexual Addiction Treatment Provider (SATP), the former Clinical Director of a sex addiction program, and a published author in this field. I’ve trained numerous therapists, developed curricula, and worked with individuals and couples in this highly sensitive area.
My IFS Level 2 training focused on addiction and eating disorders, and I bring a sex-positive, shame-reducing lens to all consultation in this space. Whether you’re seeking guidance on treatment planning, working with betrayed partners, or navigating sexual shame and misdiagnosis, I can offer insight rooted in both clinical experience and personal understanding.
I also know—very personally—what it’s like to mislabel oneself as a “porn addict” due to religious shame around sexuality. Many people believe their sexual behavior is problematic or compulsive when, in reality, it is perfectly healthy—but deeply entangled with guilt, repression, or trauma from religious or cultural conditioning. I can help you discern the difference between true compulsivity and internalized shame, and guide you in helping clients either reduce unwanted behaviors or embrace their sexual selves more fully and freely.
If you’re working with clients questioning their sexuality, struggling with porn use, or untangling their beliefs from religious purity frameworks, I offer a sex-positive, compassionate approach that honors the full complexity of these experiences.

Group Therapy Creation & Facilitation
I’ve led one to six therapy groups per week for the past nine years and trained many other therapists to do group therapy as well. I’ve facilitated groups of all kinds—long-term, short-term, process-based, curriculum-driven—and authored a published chapter on group therapy in the context of sex addiction. I continue to run an ongoing online therapy group to this day.
If you want to launch a new group, refine an existing one, or explore group therapy as a powerful (and lucrative) addition to your practice, I can help you bring your vision to life. From clinical structure to marketing strategy, I’ll help you build groups that thrive.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I’m Level 1 and Level 2 trained through the IFS Institute and nearly complete with the IFS certification process. My Level 2 training was in addictions and eating disorders, and I’ve trained under master facilitators Mariel Pastor and Mary Kruger. I’ve also spent years doing IFS therapy personally and use the model every day in my own self-healing.
While I’m not an official IFS consultant (and cannot offer hours toward certification), I offer IFS-informed consultation to therapists and coaches looking to deepen their use of the model. Whether you want to understand IFS more clearly, explore how to apply it with clients, or use it in your own healing, I’d be happy to share what I’ve learned from the inside out.
The way I most love introducing other mental health professionals to IFS is through direct IFS therapy. If you’re curious about the model and are open to experiencing it for yourself, I’d be honored to walk with you as your therapist rather than simply as a consultant. Sometimes the most powerful understanding of IFS comes not from studying it, but from feeling its healing power firsthand.

Changing Your Niche: From Expertise to Evolution
I know firsthand how disorienting—and ultimately liberating—it can be to change your niche as a mental health professional. You may have invested years into a particular focus—trainings, certifications, supervision, networking—only to realize that who you are now is no longer aligned with that path. I’ve been there. I built deep expertise in one area, only to find myself gravitating into almost the opposite niche as I grew, healed, and reconnected with my true self.
It’s not easy. It can feel scary, even risky, to pivot when your identity, income, and community have been built around a specific specialty. But sometimes, the healthiest thing we can do for ourselves—and our clients—is to evolve. To choose work that reflects who we are now. To follow our curiosity, keep learning, and stay inspired. I believe that honoring those shifts can be an act of integrity, authenticity, and sustainability.
If you’re considering changing your niche, I’d love to support you. Together, we can explore the parts of you that come up around identity, safety, fear, and desire—and make space for the visions wanting and waiting to emerge. It’s possible to build something new that is both personally meaningful and professionally lucrative. I’m here to walk with you as you do.

Self-Connection Skills
In the helping professions, we’re trained to attune deeply to others—but so often, we forget to turn that same attunement inward. Two of the most essential (and often overlooked) skills we can cultivate as therapists, coaches, and healing professionals are the ability to connect with our own inner compass of wisdom and to tend to our emotional needs.
Practices like Internal Family Systems (IFS), self-compassion, and mindfulness teach us how to care for ourselves with the same presence and tenderness we offer our clients. These practices are not just supportive—they’re protective. They help us unblend from the parts of us that get activated in session, regulate the many emotions and triggers that arise in this work, and stay grounded and present with the people we serve.
When we lead from Self—centered, calm, and curious—we build a natural buffer against burnout and compassion fatigue. We stop carrying everything in our own system. Instead, we navigate our work with clarity, resilience, and a deeper sense of purpose.
In consultation, I support professionals in developing and deepening these self-connection skills. Because when you have access to your own inner guidance, you don’t just survive this work—you thrive in it. You build a sustainable, meaningful practice—and an authentic life you enjoy living.

Evangelical Christianity, Religious Trauma, & Religious Deconstruction
While I am no longer religious, I have a deep and extensive background in evangelical Christianity. For decades, I was deeply committed to the faith. I memorized scripture, studied apologetics, lived out biblical principles, and earned a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from a seminary. I also taught at a Christian university and was immersed in evangelical theology, culture, and worldview.
Because of that, I offer a rare and compassionate perspective for therapists and professionals who:
- Are working with clients from evangelical or high-control religious backgrounds
- Want to understand the thought patterns and theological frameworks around sexuality, identity, politics, and morality
- Are deconstructing or questioning their own faith
- Need insight into biblical reasoning and the internal conflict that arises when beliefs start to shift
- Work with people from other traditions such as Mormonism, which I’ve studied extensively through client work and personal research
This is not just intellectual for me—it’s lived. I know what it’s like to lose faith, rebuild identity, and find healing after religious trauma. If you’re looking for guidance, clarity, or simply someone who understands this landscape from the inside out, I’m here.

Social Media, Blogging, & AI Marketing for Therapists
I’ve been building an online presence through blogging, social media, and AI-assisted content creation for many years. Though self-taught, I’ve learned a great deal—often the hard way—and love encouraging other professionals to explore content creation as a form of expression and connection.
Whether you’re starting a blog, launching a new service, writing a book, or wondering how to bring more authenticity to your online voice, I offer consultation in building a sustainable, values-aligned presence that supports your practice and fuels your creativity.

Supporting Highly Sensitive Mental Health Professionals
As a highly sensitive person, I know how easy it is to burn out in a field that asks so much of us. Over the years, I’ve learned how to create a practice that honors my nervous system and energy—without sacrificing meaning, connection, or income.
In these consultations, I help other sensitive professionals design sustainable practices, release shame and comparison, and rediscover their own rhythm. Whether you’re highly sensitive or simply exhausted from trying to “keep up,” this is a space where you get to be fully human while doing the work you love.

Authenticity, Identity, & Living Your Truth
This is the heart of it all.
Helping people unburden the parts of themselves that learned to hide, perform, or suppress is the soul of my work. Whether you’re exploring your gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, spiritual identity, or simply feeling the urge to show up more fully in your work and life, I’m here to support you.
I offer consultation that empowers you to embrace your authenticity—whether privately or publicly, loudly or quietly, slowly or all at once. I’m not here to tell you who to be. I’m here to cheer you on as you remember who you are.
